We can't wait to share 2025 with you all and create new memories and special moments around Mexican Gastronomy!
On January 6th, we’ll celebrate Día de Reyes in Mexico, and one of the most beloved traditions is the preparation of La Rosca de Reyes. We invite you to take our quiz to learn more about this tradition and get a special recipe from the Three Wise Men and Aura. 🙌 Link: https://auramx.co/RoscadeReyes
Fun Facts About Rosca de Reyes:
Ancient Roots: The tradition goes back to ancient times, linked to winter solstice celebrations and solar deities in cultures like the Greeks, Phoenicians, Hindus, Incas, and Aztecs. It was later Christianized and connected to the Epiphany, celebrating the Three Wise Men. 🌟
Symbolic Shape: The circular or oval shape represents God’s infinite love, while the colorful candied fruits symbolize jewels in a king’s crown. The hidden figurine (Baby Jesus) reminds us of Mary and Joseph hiding Jesus from King Herod. 👑
Letter Writing & Shoes: In Mexico and other parts of Latin America, children write letters to the Three Wise Men (Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthazar) asking for gifts. They leave their shoes out on the night of January 5th, hoping to find presents the next morning. 👞✉️
Sharing Rosca de Reyes on January 6th marks the end of the Christmas season, continuing through Día de la Candelaria on February 2nd. The Rosca de Reyes and its traditions combine sweet flavors with cultural and familial joy! 💖
Enjoy the season!
