Learn about Mexico´s different distillates as Tequila, Mezcal, Sotol and Bacanora. A unique experience where you can learn history, facts and tasting notes. Enjoy 4 selected beverages paired with three specifically designed appetizers and one dessert. All our dishes are either traditional or street popular favorites. Vegan and vegetarian experience available upon request.

Experience Details

  • We will start your experience with a welcome beverage of "agua fresca" (guava) while learning about Mexican distillates, including explanation of different regions and agave plants, Denominations of Origin and how to taste, and share the rich tradition in Mexican culture

  • Then we will conduct a tasting of four different distillates from small producers in Mexico including Tequila, Mezcal, Sotol and Bacanora.

  • Afterwards, enjoy 3 appetizers and dessert specifically designed to enhance the appreciation of the distillates.

  • Enjoy a nice sobremesa with all participants.

Menu

  • 1st course – Gorditas Queretanas

Street food appetizers paired with 2 Mexican salsas (red molcajete sauce and green sauce)

Pairing: Mezcal, San Baltazar Chichicapam Oaxaca, Wild Agave Tobalá or Tequila, Amatitán Jalisco, El Caballito Cerrero

  • 2nd course – Squash blossom salad

Warm salad made from squash blossom, cactus leaves, pumpkin seeds, with an orange and honey dressing.

Pairing: Mezcal, San Luis Amatlán Oaxaca, Wild Agave Belató

  • 3rd course – Pork with morita sauce and sweet potato puree

Pork meat cooked with chile morita sauce served with sweet potato puree

Pairing: Sotol, Aldama Chihuahua, Wild Plant Dasylirion Wheeleri

  • 4th course – Chile Ancho with requeson, dried fruits and cacao nibs

Sweet and spicy dish of chile ancho filled with cheese, decorated with dried fruits and cacao nibs

Paring: Bacanora, Municipio de Bacanora Sonora, Wild Agave Angustifolia Haw
