Class Summary

In this online experience, we will teach how to cook a Mexican Street Taco including: hand made flour tortillas, alambre (filling) and a salsa while we join other guests around the world. We will share with you secrets, tips and suggestions while we cook step by step every recipe. Or in the meantime, just select your favorite beverage and snack and enjoy!

What to bring

  • Ingredients (4-persons)

    • Alambre (taco filling)​

      • 1 pound beef meat (thin slices, small cuts) or ground beef [Alternative: chopped mushrooms or peeled and sliced carrots]

      • 2 pieces of bacon (optional)

      • Assorted peppers diced in cubes (optional)

      • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

    • Garnish​

      • 1/2 cup cilantro chopped​

      • 1/4 white onion diced 

      •  4 green limes, halved, no seeds

    • Red Salsa​

      • 1 chile jalapeno or 1 chile serrano [Alternative: 1 or 2 dry chiles]

      • 1 red tomato or two green tomatoes

      • 1 garlic clove

      • Salt to taste

    • Flour Tortillas​

      • 1 cup general purpose flour​

      • 1 + 1/2 tablespoon vegetable oil [Alternative: pork lard or butter]

      • 1/3 cup warm water

      • 1 teaspoon salt

  • Utensils​​

    • Tacos​

      • Medium Saucepan and a spoon to move the filling​

    • Salsa​

      • 1 small pot with hot water for the salsa

      • 1 cutting board + 1 knive

      • 1 blender [Alternative: molcajete]

      • 1 small bowl with a spoon to serve the salsa

    • Tortillas​

      • 1 bowl - medium size

      • 1 roll pin​ [Alternative: 1 bottle]

      • 1 flat skillet  or flat pan [Alternative: comal]

      • 1 Tortilla Napkin

We suggest you have the ingredients ready to be used (clean, disinfected, measured and prechopped if needed) so we can focus in the Mexican cooking techniques and maximize time for questions and comments.

Technical Considerations


Technology help us to embrace new ways of sharing and connecting, in this case we use ZOOM as the platform to provide our online cooking experiences. How to access: Once your online class is confirmed, we will send you a link, a code and a password for you to access. You don't need to have a personal account in zoom but you do need to install ZOOM either on your mobile or laptop. If you would like to cook at the same time with us, it will be ideal if we can see you as well as your working space.

We designed you a very easy process. All online cooking classes are private for a single household. Please contact us if you would like to book a different day or date for your class or you have any other question or comment. We will be happy to assist you.
