What to bring

  • Ingredients

    • Churros

      • 1 cup or 150 grams all - purpose sifted flour *

      • 1 cup water or 240 ml **

      • 1 or 2 tablespoons oil

      • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

      • 2 tablespoons sugar

      • 1 pinch of salt

      • * Flour: We will use 100% all-purpose flour. Any other variation such as: Gluten-free, Unbleached, do not behave the same. Please review flour expiration date. For a gluten free version use corn masa-harina or nixtamalized corn flour in the same quantity. (important just 100% corn flour does not work)

    • To fry and coat​

      • ​2 cups vegetable oil to fry the churros approx.

      • 1/3 cup sugar to coat the churros = 60 grams

    • Chocolate dip

      • 2 cup unsweetened almond milk or your favorite milk = 110 ml

      • 1/4 cup cocoa powder = 20 gr = 4 tablespoons

      • 2 tablespoons sugar = 25 gr (optional)

      • 1/8 teaspoon salt = 4 pinches of salt​

      • Variation (optional) 

        • ​1 pinch cayenne pepper or chile powder to taste

    • Vanilla dip

      • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk or your favorite milk = 110 ml

      • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract = 5 ml

      • 2 tablespoons sugar = 25 gr

      • 1/8 teaspoon salt = 4 pinches of salt

      • 1 tablespoon corn starch = 4 gr

      • 1 tablespoon of melted butter unsalted = 10 gr (alternative: coconut oil or vegetable oil)

      • 1 pinch of turmeric (optional)​

  • Utensils​​

    • Churros

      • 2 small pots, 1 spatula, 1 fork, 1 tongs, 1 teaspoon

      • 1 tray, 1 pastry bag with a star shape tip (optional)

      • 1 plate with absorbent paper, 1 small bowl

      • 2 small bowls to serve the dips
